Peacefully surrounded by his family on August 5, 2018 in his 83rd year. Predeceased by his wife Rose Marie (nee Lockett), his parents Cecile Childs and Ethel (George) McGaffin as well as his sister Joan (Phil) Poyntz.Will be sadly missed by his children Tammy (Manny) Oraa, Ted (Lynn) Childs, Denise Childs, Michele (Cleason) Brubacher, Carrie (Gerald) MacDonald; step sisters Carol and Marnie. He will be fondly remembered by his eleven grandchildren and three great grandchildren. He was an electrician with Hamilton IBEW Local 105, loved to travel, explore nature, fish and could chat up the best of them. Family will receive friends at the Ward Funeral Home, 109 Reynolds St., Oakville on Thursday, from 7-9 pm. Memorial service will be held in the chapel on Friday, Aug 10th at 11:00 am. Burial at Knox 16 Presbyterian Church Dundas Street in Oakville. In lieu of flowers, donations to the Alzheimer Society would be appreciated.
