It is with heavy hearts that we announce the passing of our beloved father, husband, nonno, brother and friend, Gaetano Casa, who peacefully left us on February 2nd, 2025, at the age of 94. Born on November 20th, 1930, in Favara, Sicily, he spent his life filled with love, devotion, and pride for his family and his heritage.

He is survived by his beloved wife Angela. Cherished father of Diego (Silvana) and Joanne (Steve). Dear grandfather of Jacklyn, Deanna, Justin and Daniel. Dear brother of Rosa (Ignazio †), Antonio † (Clara †), Giuseppe † (Antonetta †), Salvatore (Carmela), Michele (Mary), and Giovanna (Pasquale). Gaetano will be deeply missed by all his extended family, friends and anyone had the privilege to know him.

Gaetano was a man of great integrity, empathy and compassion, known for his unwavering support, his generous spirit, and his incredible work ethic. He immigrated to Canada in 1961, bringing with him the traditions, values, and resilience that would forever shape our lives. As a husband, father, grandfather, brother and friend, his love for his family was boundless, and he was always there to share stories, laughter, and advice.

Whether it was tending to his garden, enjoying an afternoon with a cup of espresso and grappa, or celebrating with family at the dinner table, Gaetano’s presence will be forever missed. He taught us the importance of family, resilience, and living with tenacity.

Friends and family are welcome to gather at Ward Funeral Home, 4671 Highway 7, Woodbridge, on Wednesday, February 5, 2025 from 2-4 p.m. and 6-8 p.m. The funeral mass will be held at St. Peter’s Catholic Church, 100 Bainbridge Ave, Woodbridge on Thursday, February 6, 2025 at 9:30 a.m. Entombment at Glendale Cemetery.  In lieu of flowers, the family asks that donations be made to Canadian Cancer Society and Canadian Diabetes Association.
