Gabriele Mazzitti

With profound sorrow, we announce the passing of our beloved Gabriele Mazzitti, who left this world on March 14, 2025, at the age of 94. He was a loving husband, devoted father, cherished grandfather, and loyal friend. He touched the lives of many with his kindness, wisdom, and unwavering love. His life was a testament to love, strength, and selflessness, and his absence leaves an immeasurable void in the hearts of those who knew him.

Born on May 26, 1930, in Silvi Paese, Teramo, Italy and immigrated to Canada in 1962, where he devoted his life to his family. He was a man of few words but deep convictions, his actions spoke louder than words—whether through his hard work, his quiet sacrifices, or the gentle ways he expressed his love.

To his children, Anna-Rita and Cinzia, he was more than a father; he was a teacher, a protector, and a guiding light. He instilled in them the values of hard work, compassion, and resilience, shaping them into the people they are today. His grandchildren adored him, finding in him a source of endless stories, laughter, and wisdom that will be passed down for generations. Gabriele found joy in the simple things—family dinners filled with laughter, the satisfaction of a hard day’s work, the warmth of holding a child’s hand, and the peace of a quiet evening spent with those he loved. He lived with humility and his generosity extended beyond his family to friends, neighbours, and anyone in need.

He leaves behind his loving spouse of 65 years, Anna-Maria, his children, Anna-Rita, Cinzia (Late Pablo) his grandchildren, Alexa (Francesco) and Erika. Loving brother of Domenico (Pia) and he will be forever loved by his nephews and nieces, extended family, dear friends, and all whose lives he touched with his kindness. He is now reunited with his beloved parents Tommaso and Anna.

Though he is no longer physically with us, his love and legacy will live on in the hearts of all who were blessed to know him. His presence will be felt in every act of kindness, every shared memory, and in the strength he instilled in those he loved. Rest in peace, Gabriele. You were the foundation of your family, greatest supporter, and quiet hero. You will be missed more than words can express, but your love will remain with us always.
