We are profoundly saddened by Gabriel Guillermo Martinez Cuesta's sudden death at age 55. Gabriel was born on October 2, 1967, in Havana, Cuba. He was the beloved son of Gabriel Guillermo Martinez Sotolongo and Norma de las Mercedes Cuesta Martinez. He is survived by his cherished children, Joseph Martinez, Bryan Alexis Martinez, and Isabella Martinez.
He leaves behind his dear family in Cuba, sister Dulce Maria, brothers Rigoberto, Luis Alberto, Yosvani, nieces, nephews, and cousins.
He died on December 5, 2022, at the Etobicoke General Hospital after succumbing peacefully for four days. He lived in Brampton, ON.
He was an outstanding athlete in Havana, playing internationally for the Cuban handball team. He immigrated to Canada in 2000 and has worked in dignity since then.
He was a good son and brother. He was an exceptional uncle. He was an incredibly great father. He was a man who lived with humility, simplicity, and humbleness.
His generosity to humanity made him want to be a donor, and today he is a hero, saving the lives of others. There will be Gabriel around us all.
The invitation for his funeral visitation, service, and Burial is extended to everyone who wishes to offer respect.
Gabriel will rest at the Ward Funeral Homes, 52 Main Street South, Brampton.
Visitation will be on Friday, December 16, 2022, from 9:30-10:30. Services will be at 10:30. Burial will follow immediately after at Meadowvale Cemetery, located at 7732 Mavis Rd, Brampton.
