It is with great sadness that we share the news of our father's passing, Frederick Rupert Boar on July 13, 2020. He lived to the wonderful age of eighty seven.
Fred was born on February 25, 1933, to Frederick Bertie James Boar and Rhoda Agnes (nee Eley) Boar. He survived all of his siblings, Rhoda, James, Robert, Stewart, Margaret and David.
Fred lived his life in Toronto, Ontario. He resided on Perth Ave. at his parent's home until he married his beloved Wanda (nee Kowalow) in 1953. They were married for fifty four years and raised four children, Russell, Brenda, Dianne and Alan while living on Verobeach Blvd. He was extremely proud of them and was delighted to have lived to see his family grow to include nine grandchildren and eight great grandchildren.
He worked for Weston Bakeries in his early years, then MJ Campbell and Wesbell Transport, where he worked as a Boom Winch Operator. While making deliveries, he would often amaze downtown onlookers as he skillfully lifted and navigated into place multi-million dollar computer equipment high into the sky between tall buildings with only inches to spare.
Fred was also an outdoor and nature lover. He was a Boy Scout Leader when his children were young. He could always tie the best knots. There were many hours fishing on Lake Belwood where the family spent weekends and holidays at their trailer in Highland Pines Campground. You could always find him playing Horseshoes, Darts or Bingo.
He was well known and respected in his neighbourhood. He would take time to chat with people while out on a bike ride, was always ready to lend a hand, or would offer to fix your bicycle. Riding his scooter in the Humber River Valley became his favourite pastime. It is where he felt free and at peace.
As we remember and reflect on his life, we realize what an amazing time he had with us and that he was happy with the life that he lived. Now, may he be re-united with Wanda, truly his only love.
We love you and miss you already Fred!!! ❤❤❤❤❤❤
Until we meet again....
We're going to jazz it up and enjoy
