Passed away peacefully at home on February 25, 2011 in his 84th year. Beloved husband of the late Romana (2009). Born in Amsterdam, The Netherlands, on July 14, 1927. Frank served in the Dutch Army in Indonesia from 1946-1949, he came to Canada in 1952. He met the love of his life Romana Montalti at Canada Packers and they were married for 56 wonderful years. Together they lived at 132 Calvington Drive, Downsview, Ontario where he was active with the St. Vincent de Paul Society, The Canadian Cancer Society, the Northwest Boys (Hockey) Club, New Democratic Party, and the Roding Seniors Club. Frank was a member of the Sheet Metal Workers Union International Local 30 for 40 years. Also worked at Peerless Enterprises. His leisure time was spent being a handy man trying to get to the end of a never-ending Honey-do list both at home and at the family cottage at South Lake. In his retirement years he was known for woodworking and wooden bowls. Loving father of Louis and wife Barb, Edo and his wife Roberta. Cherished Opa of Anne, Frank, and Luke
A Mass of Christian Burial will be held on Tuesday at 10 a.m.
at St. Phillip Neri, Roman Catholic Church, 2100 Jane Street, just south of Wilson
Interment to follow at Beechwood Cemetery
As expressions of sympathy, donations to The Canadian Diabetes Association
would be appreciated.
