Frank was born in Liverpool and came to Canada with his mother and sister Ann when he was five years old to be with his father. In fact, the ship they travelled on was called the Franconia. He was considered quiet but very observant, taking everything in that was happening around him. All of us that knew Frank got a chance to witness his easy going nature and his dry sense of humour that was surely handed down from his father John and mother Mavis. He was big-hearted and always ready for a good laugh while entertaining friends or at family gatherings. Frank was always able to tell a great story about people he met or places that he’d been.
Frank attained his civil engineering degree from Waterloo University and his career spanned over four decades in both the public and private sector. He was an avid reader, theatre goer, music lover and sports enthusiast, with an amazing memory of stats…how many goals or touchdowns were scored and by who, sometimes from years ago. Frank’s biggest passion however, was travelling with his wife and best friend, Linda. They had countless amazing adventures while travelling the world on their many vacations.
The term “Gentleman” belongs to Frank and he always brought that quality to both his professional and family life.
Frank will be greatly missed by his loving wife Linda, sons Andrew (Andrea Fox) and Mathew (Sarah Wegelin), grandchildren Ruby and Quentin, sisters Ann (Robert Vosburgh) and Cathy (Dan Speare), nephew Michael (Maria Speare), nieces
Lee (Dave Ruhl), Sarah (Craig Moreau) and Rebecca plus his many friends and colleagues.
