Franco Scavello

It is with heavy hearts that we announce the passing of Franco Scavello on April 5, 2025, at the age of 85. Devoted husband to Rita for 63 years, a loving father to Raffaela (Chris), Luigi (Irma), and Anna, and a cherished Nonno to Christopher Joseph "CJ" (Tressa), Daniel, Matthew, Lucas, and Julian. He was also an adoring great Nonno to Sophia.

Born in Cosenza, Calabria, Italy, Franco journeyed to Canada in 1963 alongside his wife Rita to build a new life together. They first settled in the St. Clair and Lansdowne area, before Franco continued his career in Aurora as a barber for over 60 years, finding success and building lasting relationships within the community.

Franco was a dedicated family man, always putting his loved ones first. He took great pride in hosting Sunday lunches and family gatherings, where his warmth and generosity were felt by all. Outside of his family life, Franco had a deep passion for gardening, particularly his beloved fig plants and fruit trees. He also enjoyed visits back home to Italy, where he cherished time with his roots. Franco loved to play card games with his friends and was a fan of F1 racing.

Franco’s legacy lives on through his family and the many memories shared. He will be lovingly remembered by all.
