It is with great sadness that we announce the passing of Francesco Sottile, Toronto, Ontario. Francesco passed away peacefully on December 20, 2022 during his 87th year surrounded by his loving family. Francesco was predeceased by his wife Maria in 2001, parents Emilio and Teresa, his brothers Eugenio, Antonio, and Vittorio. Francesco is survived by his daughter Teresa (Greg), son Emilio (Rose) grandchildren Daniella (James), Deanna (Domenic), and his great-grandchildren Luca and Matthew, brother Alfredo (Mara), sister Maria (Salvatore), and his many nieces and nephews. He was a loving father, grandfather and great-grandfather who enjoyed family gatherings to celebrate family events and holidays. While his last months were medically challenging, he always managed a large smile when family members dropped by to see him.

Family and friends will be received at the Ward Funeral Home (2035 Weston Rd.) on Monday, December 26, 2022 from 2:00 to 4:00 p.m. and 6:00 to 9:00 p.m. Funeral Mass will be held at All Saints Roman Catholic Church (1415 Royal York Rd. Etobicoke) on Tuesday December 27, 2022 at 9:30 a.m. Entombment to follow at Westminster Cemetery (5830 Bathurst St., Toronto).

Our thanks to all the many nurses and PSW’s who provided excellent and compassionate care for Francesco during his few weeks at The Village of Humber Heights - Schlegel Village.
