Francesca De Luca graced this earth for 89 wonderful years. A beloved wife, mother, sister and friend, she was a sewer of seedsand clothing, and a keeper of abundant gardens and relationships. Her gentle touch was felt by many and will be sorely missed now that she has been called home.
Born in Lentini, Sicily February 1st, 1931, to Antonio and Vincenza Cormaci, Francesca was one of four children (Alfio, Enza and Rosetta) who lost their mother at an early age. She cared for her father for many years until marrying Giuseppe De Luca in 1965 and immigrating to Toronto, where she bore and raised her beloved children, Rinoand Lucia, in a bustling St. Clair neighborhood. Her love of plants and flowers was seen by all who passed her rose gardens. Her sweetness and thoughtfulness were felt by all she knew. Francesca leaves behind her sister Rosetta, daughter-in-law Domenica, grad children Giuseppe, Antonio and Giacomo, and a legacy of kindness and love that will live forever in our hearts.
In lieu of flowers, donations can be made the The Redwood, (theredwood.com) a shelter for women and children fleeing abuse.
