It is with profound sadness that we announce the passing of our dearest Fiorina Cariati. Surrounded by her loved ones, Fiorina passed away on August 12, 2022, at the age of 92. Fiorina was born to Luigi & Erminia, in San Vincenzo La Costa, Cosenza, Italy, on August 11, 1930.

Beloved wife of the late Emilio Cariati of 51 years. Cherished mother of Franco (Ida), Eugenio (Lucia), Mario (Margherita), Joe (Carm), Tony (Josie) & Angela (Sandro). Dear grandmother of Fiorella (Dave), Antonella (Don), Daniela (Joey), Emilio (Isa), Tony (Heather), Paolo (Jennifer), Malissa (Paul), Sabrina (Shaun), Angelo (Jean Marc), Joseph (Ann), Cristina (Antonio), Matteo (Michelle), Natalina & Joshua. Proud great grandmother of 22. Fiorina was predeceased by her 10 siblings and her daughter-in-law Antonella and is survived by her sister-in-law Franca. She will be lovingly remembered by her nieces, nephews & extended family.

Fiorina’s greatest passion, beyond dedicating herself to her family, was playing briscola with family & friends and watching her favourite Italian soccer teams.

Anyone who knew Fiorina has heard her parting statement “Vai Con La Madonna”.

Our grief over losing her is infinite, and our loving memory of her will always remain in our hearts. Family and friends will be received at the Ward Funeral Home (4671 Hwy 7, Woodbridge) on Friday, August 19, 2022 from 2:00 to 4:00 p.m. and 6:00 to 9:00 p.m. Funeral service will be held at Immaculate Conception Church (300 Ansley Grove Rd, Woodbridge) Saturday, August 20, 2022, at 9:30 a.m., with entombment to follow at Glendale Cemetery. Memorial donations may be made to the Heart & Stroke Foundation or the Canadian Cancer Society.
