Filomena Puopolo

It is with profound sadness that we announce the passing of our dearest Filomena Puopolo who passed away peacefully surrounded by her beloved family at Hospice Vaughan.   

Beloved wife of Antonio for 51 years. Devoted mother to Maria Stella (Mike) & Sebastian (Antonella). Cherished Nonna to Zachary, Cristina & Antonio. Dear sister of Leonardo (Janet), Maria Theresa (Frank) & Lina (Allan). She will be lovingly remembered by her extended family & friends in Canada, Italy & Argentina.  

A woman of strength beyond expectation, she was dedicated to her family and was the matriarch of her household. Her eyes lit up when she was surrounded by her loved ones. There are no words to describe her immeasurable love for them. Always cooking her family remembers her ravioli & lasagna, as well as her traditional Italian cookies that she would prepare so lovingly. 

Times weren’t always easy, but Filomena worked hard, along with Antonio, to give their children a loving and warm home. Together they grew up a close-knit family. Her family recalls her recording her soap operas to watch daily after work. When thinking of Filomena we can agree that she has been a pillar of strength, a source of unwavering love, and a woman who always put the needs of others first. 

All are welcome to gather at Ward Funeral Home, 4671 Hwy 7, Woodbridge on Thursday, April 25, 2024, from 2:00 p.m. to 4:00 p.m. & 6:00 to 8:00 p.m. Funeral service will be held at St. Peters Parish on Friday, April 26, 2024, at 9:30 a.m. Entombment to follow at Queen of Heaven Cemetery. 

Memorial donations may be made to the Canadian Cancer Society or Hospice Vaughan.
