Passed away peacefully on Sunday June 18, 2023 at the age of 90. Devoted wife of the late Aldo. Proud mother of Tiziana (Adriano) and Barbara (Phil). Cherished Nonna to Cristina (Stefano), Laura (Chad), Anthony (Danielle) and Jessica. Cherished Great Nonna of Alexander, Elena, Sienna, Giuliana and Joshua. Ezia will be sadly missed by her sister Gigliola (late husband Gino) and all of her family members and friends here and overseas. Ezia has been reunited with the love of her life, Aldo.
Ezia met Aldo as a young woman in Italy. Aldo promised Ezia’s dying mother that he would take care of her. After only 3 months of her passing, they married. The young couple moved to Australia in 1960. In 1971 they made their way to Canada to be with Ezia’s sister Gigliola. Their travels did not stop there as Ezia was known to always have her suitcase packed and ready to go.
Aldo was always busy updating the house and was fondly referred to as Nonno Penello as he was always painting. Nonno and Nonna loved to spend time with the grandkids. Ezia would love nothing more than cooking and baking for her family and helping with their homework.
Shopping was one of Ezia’s favorite past times. She was always proud of her son in laws Adriano and Phil.
“Forever loved, always remembered.”
Family and friends will be received at the Ward Funeral Home 4671 Hwy 7, Woodbridge (just west of Pine Valley Dr.) on Tuesday from 4-9 p.m. A mass will be held on Wednesday June 21, 2023 at 11 a.m. at St. Peter’s Church 100 Bainbridge Ave., Woodbridge. Entombment to follow at Glendale Cemetery. As expressions of sympathy donations to the Alzheimer’s Society would be appreciated.
