Into the arms of angels, Evelyn passed away peacefully in her sleep at Matthews House Hospice in Alliston on July 19, 2021. Evelyn was the beloved wife of Paul (predeceased) for almost 60 years. She was the loving Mother of John (Michelle), Mary (Pat), Carol (Stephen) & Arlene (Grant). She was the proud Grammy of Mary (Kevin), Brandon (Alannah), Paul & Julia. She was also the proud Great Grandmother of William & Chloe. Evelyn was born in Toronto & raised by her Grandparents Daisy & William Joyce in Weston. Her Parents were Kathleen & Robert Parr of Brampton. Evelyn had 4 siblings: Renee Hunter (predeceased) (Eric) of Saskatoon, Saskatchewan, Sam Parr (predeceased) of Wetaskiwin, Alberta, Elsie Mae Loucks (Bruce) (both predeceased) of Acton & Bill Parr (predeceased) (Yna) of Barrie. Adored Aunt of many nieces & nephews in Toronto, Barrie, North Bay & across Alberta & Saskatchewan. The Zarbs lived for over 60 years on Kingdom Street in Weston. They were Neighbours to the Marks, the Stewarts, the Fergusons & the Glenns. Mom’s lifelong childhood friends included Mary McCutcheon (Don – predeceased), Cherry Brown (predeceased), Merle Ferguson (Jim) (both predeceased), & Marilynn Watkins (Reg) (both predeceased). Evelyn was a Family Friend of Sam & Shirley Fuller. Mom loved to knit, bake & garden. She loved the countryside & especially horses. She came from a farming Family. Evelyn worked as the Head Secretary in the Real Estate Department of Canada Mortgage & Housing Corp. She was a kind & gentle Lady. She will live on in our hearts always. The Family would like to thank the Staff & Volunteers of Matthews House Hospice for their gentle, kind & compassionate care. In lieu of flowers, if desired, please make donations to Matthews House. Arrangement entrusted to Ward’s Funeral Home in Weston. Funeral is on Friday, July 23, 2021 at 10:30 a.m. in the Chapel. There will be a 1 hour visitation before the service.
