Eustachio "Steve" Taccardi

Passed away peacefully with his family by his side on Sunday March 10, 2024 at the age of 74. Devoted husband of the late Nicoletta. Proud Papa of Cosmo (Natasha), Rosie, Danny (Oriana) and Claudia (Mike). Cherished Nonno of Marcus, Ava, Leia, Adrian, Tristan, Benjamin, Austin and Mikaela. Dear brother of Emanuele, Bruna, Lucia and Saverio. He will be sadly missed by his many family and friends. Steve has been reunited with the love of his life Nicoletta.

Born in Matera, Italy to parents Cosimo and Rosaria. At the age of 18, Eustachio made the bold move to Canada in search of a better life. 

At a friend’s house party in 1972, Eustachio caught the eye of a beautiful young woman. Over the next two years Nicoletta and Steve would spend as much time as they could together. The couple married in 1974.

Together they enjoyed going out for dinner and dancing with friends. They loved to travel together. Whether it was going on a cruise, traveling down South or traveling back home to Italy.

BBQs were a family favorite which would be enjoyed by our family and friends topped up with a few glasses of wine while listening to the likes of Adriano Celentano. 

The grandchildren were Eustachio’s pride and joy. He would spend hours teaching the kids and grandkids how to make things. He had the “Golden Hands” his talents were endless. 

These memories with Papa and Nonno will stay with us forever.

   “We love you and will miss you forever.”

Family and friends will be received at the Ward Funeral Home 4671 Hwy 7, Woodbridge on Thursday from 2-4 and 6-9 p.m. A funeral mass will be held on Friday at 11 a.m. at St. David’s Church 2601 Major Mackenzie Dr., Maple. Entombment to follow at Westminster Cemetery. As expressions of sympathy donations to Hospice Vaughan would be appreciated.
