Ernesto Manna was born in Calabria, Italy in 1943 during a time when the world was at odds. His death came at a time when the world is not the way it was meant to be. He was predeceased by his parents Francesco and Laura. Ernesto, the youngest of six children, showed great courage and ambition when he wanted to start a better life for him and his beloved wife, Maria. At 27 years old, he came to Canada on his own and shortly after was joined by both Maria and his precious daughter, Laura. His two cherished sons, Sandro and Massimo, were the next additions to his family living the Canadian dream. Ernesto worked several jobs simultaneously in construction and as a pizza maker (and later as a business owner of his own pizzeria). He overcame health issues with his heart as it still had plenty of love to give to his granddaughters, Sophia and Sylvia. He was able to watch them flourish into the beautiful young ladies they have become. He worked tirelessly so that he could provide for his family well past the age of retirement. Unfortunately, God had a different plan. He succumbed to his battle with lung cancer amidst the turmoil of the pandemic. Ernesto will forever be remembered as we celebrate the caring and compassionate man he was. We will honour him as he continues to provide while watching over us from Heaven.
