DR. ERNEST JONES It is with deep sadness that we announce the death of Ernest R. Jones (Physician) on Wednesday, February 17, 2016 at Etobicoke General Hospital. Ernie was a beloved husband of 61 years to Lois (nee Neilson) and a dedicated father to Stephen, Faye and Frank Iorio (in-law) and brother-in-law to Helen Soutter. He was predeceased by his brother, Murray Jones, of Strathroy, ON. As a Family Practitioner, his career extended more than 45 years and was more of a calling than a profession. This time included working at the Humber Hospital (Church Street site), where he earned the respect and admiration of his colleagues. As a husband, Ern was Lois' joy and the love of her life. His children were blessed by his gentleness, understanding, compassion and good humour. His many former patients still ask about him with concern and genuine caring. He will be dearly missed. A private family funeral service was held on February 24, 2016 at Ward Funeral Home in Weston, followed by interment at Riverside Cemetery. Condolences may be left at www.wardfuneralhome.com
