Ernest (Ernie) GREMELL

Ernie passed away peacefully on April 25, 2015 at the age of 85. Beloved father of Paul (Susan) and Neil and loving brother to June Ross. Predeceased by his wife of 57 years Barbara and his daughter Yvonne. “Grandad” will be dearly missed by his grandsons Cameron, Patrick and Jamie and by his son-in-law Dr. Robert Munn and niece Dr. Katherine Ross. Ernie was a caring and generous husband, father and grandfather who lived a full and active life. After raising his children and following a successful career at C.I.L. Paints he took full advantage of his retirement to spend time with family, travel the world, bike, golf and curl. He was a longtime member of the Westway United Church and gave back to his community in a significant way through his tireless work with the pastoral care group at the Church. Paul and Neil are deeply grateful to Rob, Kathy, Lisa Callahan and especially Cindy Doucette for all the time, dedication and compassion they gave Ernie throughout his hospital stay and in helping to ease his passing. Visitation will be held at the Ward Funeral Home, 2035 Weston Road on Friday May 1, 2015 from 2-6 PM followed by cremation and a private interment at Prospect Cemetery.
