Ernest Thomas Dawson born February 28th 1937, passed away February 11th 2020 at the age of 82. Survived by his beloved wife Jean Dawson (nee Hodgson). Loving father of David and his wife Karen, Bradley, and of Paul and his wife Alison. Cherished grandfather of Kayla (Aleks), Samantha (Geoff), Lance, Brigit (Gianluca), Kirsty, and Ian. Ernie will be greatly missed by his many nieces, nephews, family, and friends.
Born and raised in Beaverton, Ernie arrived in Toronto after graduating high school. He attended a U of T accounting night school course, which led him to a 46 year career at Moore's Business Forms, starting in 1957. Through a blind date in 1958, Ernie met his life partner, Jean Hodgson which has extended to 60 years of marriage. Ernie's passions in life included fishing, curling, flying remote control planes, water and snow skiing, camping, Humbervale United Church services and family gatherings. His greatest joy came from time spent with his three sons, two daughter in-laws and six adored grandchildren along with his extended family. A legacy that Ernie leaves behind is the importance of family, support and love. Ernie has left his loved ones with countless treasured memories that will be shared around many a dinner table and gathering for years to come.
A Celebration of Ernie’s Life will be held on Monday February 17th, 2020 starting at 2pm and memorial service at 3 pm with reception to follow at Humbervale United Church, 1447 Royal York Road, Toronto.
In lieu of flowers memorial donations to Humbervale United Church in memory of Ernest Dawson would be greatly appreciated
