Ercole Romano

It is with profound sadness that we announce the passing of our patriarch Ercole Romano. Passed away peacefully at Princess Margaret Hospital on Wednesday, February 28, 2024. Born to Maria & Antonio Romano, in Italy, on October 7, 1945.

Ercole was a loving man with an unshakable devotion to his wife Rosetta ‘nee Giugni’ for 50 years. Beloved father of Antonio (Marina), Andrea (Julie) & Maria (Anthony). Cherished grandfather of Julia, Sophia, Valentina, Alessio, Lauren, Mikayla. Dear brother of Late Antonietta, Matilde, Late Domenico, Rosamaria. Ercole will be lovingly remembered by his extended family & friends.

He was a proud Italian man who made sure to pass along the beauty of his homeland & traditions, from making wine & growing fruits & vegetables. He was also a proud Canadian citizen & was grateful for all the opportunities and care afforded to him. Reflecting on his life brings a smile to those who knew him, because he loved his family, especially his grandchildren. He will be remembered for all the love he shared with his wife, children & grandchildren. Now in his absence we find the inspiration to live as he did: with kindness, strength & boundless love.

His loss to his family and friends is significant and can't be explained in words. He has left behind the legacy of family members with clarity of their values & desires. He will be deeply missed, and his memory will live on in the hearts & minds of those who knew him.

Family and friends will be received at the Ward Funeral Home (4671 Hwy 7, Woodbridge) on Sunday, March 3, 2024, from 2:00 to 4:00 p.m. & 6:00 to 9:00 p.m. Funeral service to be held St. Peter’s Parish (100 Bainbridge Ave. Woodbridge) on Monday, March 4, 2024, at 9:30 a.m., with entombment to follow at Queen of Heaven Cemetery.
