Ellen Eileen Murphy

Eileen Ellen Murphy passed away peacefully on April 6th, 2025, shortly after celebrating her 100th birthday.

Predeceased by her loving husband Edward Murphy

Predeceased by Sons Bill (Diane), Bob (Kathy), Eamonn (Dianne); Son in Law Vince and grandson Kristoper.

Survived by daughters Nuala (Vince(D), Helen (Brett), Maureen (estranged); many nieces and nephews.

Beloved Nana to 11 grandchildren Erin (Brian), Shannon, Kristen(Wojtek), Kristopher (D), Kevin, Samantha(George), Liam, James(Fiona), Richard, Michael and Sean Great Nana to 9 children, she will be greatly missed by all. Born in Limerick, Ireland in 1925 to Parents Patrick and Katherine, Eileen emigrated from Ireland in 1949 after surviving the Great Depression and WWII to immigrate to Canada to marry the love of her life, our father Edward. Widowed at the age of 42, left with 6 young children, she had to navigate waters of single parenthood and reinvent herself in the workplace. Her reward was her gardening, baking, family dinners and her absolute joy in her grandchildren and great grandchildren. Eileen said her daily mass as she bore the death of her sons, son in law and grandson with prayer and her unshakable faith in God and the Church. It was the core of her joy and the solace of her heartbreak. She never faltered. Her burden is done. Her busy hands are still. She has earned her rest. God bless you Mom, love from us all, we will always miss you.

Eileen will be laid to rest with her beloved Ed at Mount Hope Catholic Cemetery at a later date with a private family interment being held.
