ELIZABETH MAY TODD (nee LOWE)

Early on the warm summer morning of Friday August 23, 2013, Betty quietly passed away in her 86th year. Her enchanting smile and peaceful nature will always be remembered by those who knew and loved her including her children Ian (Nancy), Debra (Gerry) and Derek (Eva); her grandchildren, Jeremy, Jenna, Jasmine, Jaden, Steven (Normee), Tony (Kitty), Gillian and Lisa (Brent); her three great grandchildren, Aidan, Kasey and Liam; her extended family and innumerable friends here and in the UK.

Betty was predeceased by her beloved husband Ray, her “Ray of sunshine”, whom she longed to join again in eternity, as well as her younger brother, Jack.

Betty is lovingly remembered by her dear brother Tom (Jack’s twin), sisters-in-law Joyce and Mary Lou, Cousins Barbara and Bernice and cherished nephews, nieces and their families. She will be missed by her long-time friends June and Annabelle.

Betty was born March 27, 1928 in Toronto and lived many happy years on Chandos Lake, near Apsley before settling in Oakville. She was a modest woman; humble, intelligent, ever-loving, appreciative, and generous – a pillar of strength and an inspiration to her family. In her gentle, non-pressuring way she encouraged us to be close. She will be remembered for her quiet dignity, subtle sense of humour and clear, infectious laugh.

Deep and heartfelt thanks to Dr. K. Enright, Oncologist, and the team at the Credit Valley Hospital Cancer Centre, Dr. Mary Zamora, Dr. Lynne Benjamin and the doctors, nurses and palliative care team at the Oakville Trafalgar Memorial Hospital.

Betty’s family would also like to extend their sincere gratitude to Sunrise of Oakville for your loving kindness and comfort giving Betty two extraordinary months of joy.

A service to celebrate her life will begin at 1:00pm with a reception to follow. Interment of Cremated Remains will take place at Prospect Cemetery in Toronto at a later date.
