Sebastian, Elizabeth “Glatty”

Passed away peacefully surrounded by her loving family on Friday July 9, 2021 at the age of 75. Devoted wife to Putambhrambil John Sebastian “Devasikutty” for 56 wonderful years. Proud mother of Grace (Pramod), Johnson (Shikha) and Gladys (Vinod). Cherished Nani-Mama of Priyanka and Rachel. Sweetest Dadi of Sarah and Isha. Caring Chechi of Barrid, loving sister to Filo, and the kindest aunty to her many nephews and nieces. She will be immensely missed by many of her family and friends from Kochi, Kerala to Delhi, India and here in Canada.

She was born in Kochi, Kerala, India to Joseph and Marium KattiKattu. It is also in this town that she met her soul mate Devasikutty, who she was given 7 days to marry but they were inseparable since. They created a life together and raised three wonderful children together. She was a woman who loved to work, cook, garden, and make special meals on every occasion for her Devasikutti and her children. No Christmas, no birthday, and no holiday went without her cooking up creations, preparing the house, and opening up doors to everyone she loved. She would make the most out of every little thing she had, whether it be a birthday card with rice grains or a bouquet out of tiny seeds that blossomed because of her green thumb. She was a strong, independent, and dedicated woman who loved being on her feet and doing everything she could for all the people around her. No one ever felt alone near her, as she was a mother not just to her three kids but to every child who entered her home. Her smile was the brightest in the room whenever her children and grandchildren were around her. If you had the privilege of sharing the same space as her, you would be asked many, many times if you would like to eat something and would leave feeling loved and cared for.
The garden of love will never be the same without her. We will love her till eternity as she will always be the queen of our hearts.
Glatty, your Deviskutty will miss you more than you could have ever imagined. Your smile will live through him. Thank you for everything you have given to your children, grand-children, this earth, and every person who has ever known you.
