It is with profound sadness that the family of Elizabeth (Betty) Matthews (nee Adamson) announce her passing on October 18, 2024 at St. Joseph's Hospital. 

Predeceased by her parents John and Ethel Adamson, her sister Janet Adamson, and her loving husband Joseph (Joe) Matthews. She is a cherished sister to Carole Visser (Gerald), Thomas Adamson (Donna) and Robert Adamson (Cherry) & several nieces & nephews. She will be forever missed by her children John, Paul & Katherine. 

Betty was born in Kirkland Lake , Ontario on March 6, 1942. She moved with her family to Nova Scotia where she lived her childhood and teenage years. She moved to Toronto, Ontario and married Joseph on April 13, 1963. Betty & Joe lived in Toronto on Seneca Ave for a number of years raising their children. Betty worked as a babysitter, worked at the Salvation Army Thrift Store, worked at the Salvation Army Jacksons Point and worked at a factory. Betty is a long-standing member of the Salvation Army York Community Church and was a Sunday school teacher & Home League secretary for many years. Betty was a proud Christian and had a special love for God. She had an amazing smile and laugh. She had a love for dogs, playing cards, spending time with her family & friends. She loved spending time with her best friend Jamie Bogart, who always took good care of her. 

In lieu of flowers, donations to the Salvation Army & Kerry's Place would be greatly appreciated.
