Elizabeth Alison Perrott
July 12, 1925- May 20, 2023
Elizabeth Alison Perrott passed away peacefully on Saturday May 20, 2023, at home attended by family.
She was predeceased 6 months ago by her husband of 72 years, Donald.
Alison will be lovingly remembered by her children Janice DeYoung (John), David (Karen), Joan Pantlin (the late Doug), Judy Kitching (Rick Nagel) and Richard (Daniella).
She was extremely proud of her grandchildren: Jennifer (Ryan), Michelle (Jonathan); Jason (Emma), Tyler (Michelle), Jamie (Jenn); Denise (Stefan), Kevin: Christine (Glen), John (Nadia), Anne (Mike), William; Sean (Lauren), Kaitlyn (Matthew) and her great-grandchildren: Joshua, Jacob; Madeleine, Jake, Dylan; Grace, Jack, Emily; Rowan, Elliott; Kaitlynn (Rohullah), Ella, Gavin; Emily, Nathan, Alyssa; Hailey, Natalie; and Noah, all of whom will miss her dearly.
Alison grew up in Brantford the middle child of three. She was predeceased as a child by her older brother, Blair and late last year by her dear sister, Ruth.
She will be fondly remembered by her neighbours and her church community at Donway Baptist Church
where she was a long-time active member. In addition to singing in the choir, she served on many committees and was instrumental in establishing an exercise group for seniors.
After initially working at an accounting firm, Alison moved to Toronto to pursue a career as a registered nurse. She trained at The Hospital for Sick Children and remained close to the group of friends she made there, also helping to plan many of their reunions. Although unsuited for an accounting career, one positive outcome was that Alison met her future husband while working there.
Family was very important to Alison and she always enjoyed visits, marking special milestones
and welcoming each new addition to her ever-growing family. She was the matriarch who, after raising five children, was thrilled as numerous grandchildren, then great-grandchildren arrived. She loved to meet each new addition and always had teddy bears and toys available for their visits. Her life was rich with a large family and many friends. She enjoyed attending theatres and concerts, as well as travelling with her husband.
