It is with profound sadness that we announce the passing of Elena on Wednesday, December 18, 2019 at the age of 87 after a courageous battle with cancer. Devoted wife of the late Alfeo. Proud mother of Anna (Jose da Silva) and Mark (Natasha). Cherished Nonna of Matthew, Julian and Simon. Elena has been reunited with her dear husband Alfeo, twin sister Elsa and her siblings Gianni and Andreina, and other family and friends that have gone before her. She will be sadly missed by her many family and friends. Fondly remembered for her strength and her quiet disposition, she was loving and selfless and was the backbone of our family. Her grandchildren were the love of her life and would always bring a smile to her face.

Our family would especially like to thank Angie and her staff at Villa Da Vinci for their compassion and kindness in caring for our mother and nonna, as well as Dr. Maida and his team for their outstanding care.
Friends and family will be received at the Ward Funeral Home 4671 Hwy 7, Woodbridge (just west of Pine Valley Dr.) on Friday from 4-9 p.m. A mass will be held at St. Peter’s Church, 100 Bainbridge Ave., Woodbridge (Martingrove Rd., north of Hwy 7) on Saturday, December 21, 2019 at 10:30 a.m. Entombment to follow at Queen of Heaven Cemetery. As expressions of sympathy donations to the Canadian Cancer Society would be appreciated.
