Greco, Elena –

Born on July 28th, 1917 in Fossacesia, Chieti, Italy, passed away peacefully at the age of 95 at the Humber River Regional Hospital on May 20th, 2013. Loving wife of the late Tommaso. Elena will be fondly remembered by her sons Matteo (Maria Ersilia) and John (Mary). Elena will be reunited with her grandson Marco and forever loved by her surviving grandchildren Tom (Rose), Matthew (Carmelle), Gianpaolo (Cristina) and Daniel (Laura). Nonna will be sadly missed by her great grandchildren Cassandra, Stefano, Isabella, Emma, John Jr., and Juliana Marie. Elena also leaves behind many other family and friends whose lives she has touched along the way.

She was a strong woman, surviving in Canada without a husband and always helped those in need. She loved to knit, crotchet, sew, sing, bake and cook. She will forever be known for her strong connection to her faith in the Catholic Church and we pray for her now as she had prayed for all of us. Elena will always be loved and respected and she will never be forgotten. We love you.

Friends will be received at the Ward Funeral Home, 2035 Weston Road (North of Lawrence Ave. W.) Weston, on Wednesday and Thursday from 2-4 & 6-9 p.m. A Mass of Christian Burial will be held at All Saints Catholic Church, 1415 Royal York Road, Toronto on Friday at 9:30 a.m. Entombment to follow at Holy Cross Cemetery.
