Elaine Bent

It is with heavy hearts that the family announces the passing of Elaine. Much too soon. Predeceased by her parents Lawrence and Hilda and her sister Shirley Johnson. Survived by her loving husband Thomas, daughter Danette Jeoffroy (Mike), stepson Robert Bent (Leo), Brother Al Jira(Sandra), brother-in-law Ernest Johnson, Grandchildren Taylor, Tatiana, Jaiden, and Dyllon. Will be greatly missed by her uncles and aunts; Herb and Ruth Wagner, Elmer and Jean Becker, many cousins, nieces, nephews, and friends.



Elaine obtained her teaching certificate from the University of Manitoba. In 1986 Elaine graduated from York University where she obtained her Bachelor of Administrative Studies degree. Elaine was the Human Resources Manager at CFM Majestic and also worked as a receptionist at the firm of Prouse, Dash and Crouch. For many years she was also a devoted stay at home Mom for Danette. She was an avid golfer and enjoyed curling and baseball.



Elaine was a true inspiration on how one can cope when diagnosed with a terminal disease. Her outlook on life was always positive. Enjoying each day to its fullest. The family wishes to thank our family doctor Sheldon Cheskes and his staff, Dr. R. Osbourne and the many doctors and nurses at Sunnybrook. We would also like to thank the many friends that assisted in the caring for Elaine.



Family at friends will be received at the Ward Funeral Home, 52 Main Street S. (Hwy #10), Brampton on Tuesday August 12,2014 from 2-4 and 7-9 p.m. A funeral service will be held at St. Bartholomew’s United Church, 22 Abbey Road, Brampton on Wednesday August 13 at 10:30 a.m. In lieu of flowers, please make a donation to the Sunnybrook Foundation care of the Odette Cancer Centre, 2075 Bayview Avenue, Toronto, Ontario M4N 3M5.
