Eileen Marie Burrell (Nee Cherwaty)

It is with heavy hearts and fondest memories we share our loss of an amazing woman on March 8, 2014. Daughter of Michael & Helen Cherwaty, beloved wife of Kenneth Burrell, mother of Michael (Dragica), Carolyn (Brett) and Alana (Kevin), sister of Diane (Harald), sister in law to Marleen, Glenda (Simon). Nana of Ella, Emily, Lindsay and Baby-to-Be. She was a loving, thoughtful, well spoken, elegant, smart, determined, brave and generous woman who always stood by whom and what she believed in. She was a retired TDSB teacher who in recent years was selflessly involved in the community with Politics, Ratepayers and former Chair of the Vaughan Library Board. She was dedicated to her family, friends, gardening and lovingly took care of all her furry friends while enjoying life in Vaughan and Florida. She loved hosting all the special occasions filled with so many thoughtful details that made them unforgettable for all.
Family and friends will be received at the Ward Funeral Home, 4671 Highway 7, Woodbridge Tuesday, March 11, 2014 from 6-9pm and Wednesday, March 12 from 2-4 & 7-9. A Mass will be celebrated on Thursday, March 13 at St. Margaret Mary Church 8500 Islington Ave., Woodbridge, at 9:30a.m with burial to follow. Donations may be made to Heart and Cancer research.
