Edward (Ted) George Wray 94 passed away on Tues Dec 14/21. Born in Royal Oak, Michigan, he came to Canada as a young child living his entire life in Toronto. He leaves behind his wife Eleanor to whom he was devoted for 71 years and for whom he will live on forever due to Alzheimer’s that preserves the oldest memories, leaving no room for the sadness of new memories. He loved his family: Tom (Mara), Cathy (Hartmuth), Peter (Linda), his grandchildren Amy (Derek), Daniel (Julia), Adam, Meaghan, Alex and his great grandchildren Jade, Ethan and Thomas. He will be missed by his close-knit church community friends for whom he was the glue that has kept them connected. Retired from Toronto Hydro at 55, he managed the retiree’s dream to be retired more years than he worked. He did volunteer work in the community which earned him the recognition of a street named in his honour: ‘Ted Wray Circle’ located within walking distance of the home that he and Eleanor occupied for 70 years. He also tried his hand at politics, earning second place in 2 elections for School Board Trustee. Ted’s sense of humour kept us all laughing right to the end when the kids found his funeral planning documents neatly clipped together with a bulldog clip it had the word “LATER” on the clip.
The family has requested a Covid friendly funeral and invite everyone to watch Mr. Wray's funeral service from the comfort of your own home on Monday December 27th, 2021 at 1:00 p.m. This link will become available at the time of the service.
