Edmée Moir, née Levasseur, passed away peacefully at the Toronto Western Hospital on January 16, 2025, at the age of 82, surrounded by her loved ones. Born in St. Boniface, Manitoba, Edmée was raised in a family of nine children. In her early twenties, she left home to begin her career as a flight attendant for Air Canada, where she worked for over thirty years. In 1969, she married Robert Moir, a CBC sports producer whom she had met earlier while working for Radio-Canada in Winnipeg.
A vivacious and sociable woman, Edmée enjoyed travel, visiting family and playing golf, particularly at St. George's Golf Club in Toronto, as well as in Naples, Florida. She accumulated numerous trophies and won several tournaments.
Edmée is predeceased by her beloved husband Bob, as well as by her parents and her sister Pauline. She is survived by seven siblings and by her husband's family, as well as by many nieces and nephews. Particular thanks are extended to the members of her Toronto family, Roland and Myriam, Katrina and Mikaela, for their loving care over the years.
A memorial service in her honour will be held in the spring.
