Edith Strong

Edith Josephine Strong – passed away Friday, May 8th at Humber River Regional Hospital (Church) in Toronto in her 87th year.
Edith was born in Estevan, Saskatchewan and married to Norman Strong in 1946. They moved to Ontario in 1961 where Edith worked in the food industry as a cook for places such as the Four Winds Nursing Home, Woodbridge Hotel, York University, Humber Memorial Hospital, and she retired from the Woodbridge Board of Trade Golf & Country Club. In her retirement she enjoyed card games, making crafts especially crocheting and knitting with local seniors. She always enjoyed getting together with family and challenging them to a card game.
Edith was predeceased by her father, Josiah Howell, her mother, Helen (Thompson) (Howell) Lang, two sisters Helen (Katie) Howard and Rheta Lang.
She is survived by her son Ron Strong, Nobleton, three daughters, Patricia AuCoin, Brampton, Robyn Zettler (Ken), Innisfil, Carole DeAngelis (Eugenio Mifsud), Barrie; one brother, Gary (Betty) Lang, Carnduff, Sask., one sister Elizabeth (Betty) Klein, Maple Ridge, B.C.; her 8 grandchildren, Robert AuCoin, Mark AuCoin (Katharine), Sean Strong, Amy DeAngelis (Andrew Bovair), Nicholas, Melanie, Kyle and Adam DeAngelis and 7 great-grandchildren, Chantal and Brandon Byrne, Zachary AuCoin, Katelyn and Nathan AuCoin, Jack and Isla Bovair, and numerous nieces and nephews.
Her family gathered together to hold a celebration of her life on Mother’s Day. She will be greatly missed.
Cremation has taken place and her ashes will be taken to Saskatchewan.
Donations may be made in Edith’s memory to the Princess Margaret Hospital, Heart & Stroke Foundation, Lung Association or to a charity of your choice.
