Our loving mother, Edda Curcuruto, passed away on May 1, 2023 in her 87th year.
Edda lived a rich and faithful life. She was born on September 10, 1936 in Naples, Italy; one of seven children, she spent her youth helping her mother tend to household responsibilities, these years in her life helped to cultivate her admirable skills as a homemaker and a nurturing mother.
She came to Canada by boat when she was 17, and it was here in Toronto where she and her husband raised their family. Edda, not unlike many Italian women of her generation, was a loving mother and wife, a talented cook, a skilled crocheter, and an impeccable homemaker. But our mother was so much more: she was a classy, elegant lady who was always well dressed and poised. She loved to dance and sing; her home was full of love and joy.
She had many loyal friends over her lifetime. She was a sociable, gracious woman who loved to take care of her family. In her later years she cherished spending winters in Florida where she had created lifelong friendships.
She is predeceased by her beloved husband Giuseppe. Loving mother of Anna (Warren), late Sandra & Leonardo. Edda was blessed with four grandchildren Kristen (Matthew), Stefanie (Patrick), Dominic (Kelly) & Daniel (Hiliary). Proud great grandmother of Jaxson, Connor, Travis, Rylan, William, Claire & Rowan. Dear sister of Lina, Pasquale, Ralph & Robert, and is predeceased by Bica & Carlo. She will be lovingly remembered by her nieces, nephews & extended family.
