Dr. Morley Rutherford

Dr. Morley Rutherford passed away peacefully on Thursday February 2, 2017 in his hometown of Brampton. He leaves behind Mary Jo, his loving wife of 58 years, and his children Rebecca (Warren Thompson), Stephen (Joanne Manderson) and Tim (Angela Rutherford). He was a loving grandfather to Mikaela, Mathew and Brittany, Sophie, Mariel and William and will be dearly missed. As a contributing member to the Brampton community, he founded the Brampton Veterinary Hospital in 1961 and practiced veterinary medicine for 35 years. He was a proud member of the Brampton Flower City Kiwanis Club and the Brampton Men’s PROBUS Club. He treasured his time skiing with his family at the Caledon Ski Club and walking the Bruce Trail at the Forks of the Credit. Morley will be missed by many. The family wants to thank the kind and caring staff at Burton Manor where Morley spent his last weeks. Family and friends will be received at the Ward Funeral Home, 52 Main Street South (Hwy 10), Brampton on Sunday, February 5, 2017 from 2-4pm and 6-9pm. A Funeral Service will be held on Monday, February 6th at St Paul’s United Church, 30 Main St S, Brampton, ON L6W 2C4 at 11am.
