Platt, Douglas Alfred – after a lengthy illness on Sunday, January 30, 2011 at Sunnybrook K Wing in his 87th year. Beloved husband of Pamela. Loving father of Steve (Cathy), Deborah (Gary Barkey) and Greg. Dear grandfather of Craig (Amanda) Platt, Danielle Hewitt, Ryan Barkey, Daniel Barkey and great granddaughter Natalee Hewitt. Predeceased by his sister Barbara Johnston. Friends will be received at the Ward Funeral Home, 2035 Weston Road (North of Lawrence Ave. W.) Weston on Tuesday from 2-4 & 7-9 p.m. A funeral service will be held in the chapel on Wednesday at 10 a.m. Interment to follow at Prospect Cemetery. In lieu of flowers, donations to the Humber River Regional Hospital Foundation or Sunnybrook Foundation – Veterans’ Centre would be appreciated.
