With his family by his side, it is with sadness that we announce Doug’s passing at the Brampton Civic Hospital, on Wednesday March 16, 2016 at the age of 75. He is survived by his loving wife of over 50 years, Janice (née Schneider).
Beloved father of Daniel (Marcia) and Christopher (Andrée) Wonderful grandfather to Sophia, James, Catherine (Tristan) and Marie-Pascale and great grandpapa to Hudson and Phénix- with one more on the way. He will be dearly missed by his sister Carol (Ted Brown), nephews Scott (Mia) and Jeffrey (Kara) and all his extended family and friends.
Doug enjoyed spending his free time playing golf and dancing the night away with his best friend and love of his life, Janice. He was part of the Legion Branch #15 of Brampton and the Masonic Lodge of Burks Falls.
Family and friends will be received at the Ward Funeral Home Brampton Chapel, 52 Main Street South, on Monday March 21, 2016 from 2 to 4pm and 7 to 9pm. Memorial Service to be held Tuesday March 22, 2016 in the chapel at 11am. A private family interment will take place at a later date. In lieu of flowers, donations to the Canadian Cancer Society would be appreciated by the family.
