Douglas "Doug" Smith

Peacefully, at the Oakville Trafalgar Memorial Hospital on Monday, April 23, 2012, in his 70th year. Beloved husband of Marlene for 40 years. Loving Father of Laura Spry and her husband Kevin. Will be sadly missed by his grandchildren Carmel, Sim, Rose, Sam and Seth. Survived by brother Kevin and his wife Linda of Woodstock and sister Bev Smith of Toronto. Lovingly remembered by his nieces and nephews Gregory and Kathryn, Andrew and Bradley. Best youngest friend Amanda daughter of Marianne and Arnold, and by Godchildren Susan, Michelle, Danielle, Jamie and Jillian. Fondly remembered by his many friends. Doug was an avid outdoorsman, enjoying hunting, fishing and camping.
Family and friends will be received at the Ward Funeral Home, 109 Reynolds Street, Oakville, on Thursday, April 26, 2012 from 2-4 and 7-9 p.m. Funeral service will be held in the chapel on Friday at 11:00 a.m. Cremation to follow.
