It is with profound sadness that we announce the peaceful passing of our dearest Doug Pope. Surrounded by the love of his family, Doug passed away on Sunday, August 6, 2023 in his 66th year. Doug was born to Edward and Margaret in Toronto on May 12, 1957.

Doug was a devoted husband to the love of his life, Marinka, for 42 wonderful years. Together, they had two daughters, Ashley (Matt), and Sydney (Aayush). Doug will be fondly remembered by his siblings Mike, Judy, and Steve (Hilda), as well as all of his family and friends who loved him.

Doug was quick-witted and could always command a room with a great story. He loved to watch and play golf, listen to music (and often sing to it), and travel the world with his favourite travel partner whenever the opportunity arose.

He will forever be remembered as a supportive, protective, and unconditionally loving husband and father who would do absolutely anything for his family. He will be deeply missed for the rest of our days.

Friends and family will be received at The Ward Funeral Home (4671 Highway 7, Woodbridge) on Friday, August 11, 2023 from 1:00 pm to 3:00 pm for a memorial gathering and reception.

In lieu of flowers or other gifts, Doug's family asks that you consider donating to one of the following critical care units at Sunnybrook or Cortellucci hospitals which cared so well for Doug during his time there.
