Dorothy Waugh

It is with aching hearts that we announce the passing of our mother Dorothy Kirker Waugh (nee Craig) peacefully, with all her children present, in her home on November 18, 2015 in Oakville, Ontario. Mom was born February 7, 1928 in Montreal, Quebec.

Mother to Donald Craig Waugh and his partner Karen Cooper, Rodney Dean Waugh and his wife Judy White, Janice Leith Waugh and her partner Simon Constam and Karen Dale Egan and her husband James Egan. Grandmother to Conor Waugh MacKenzie, Tori Waugh, Hanna Egan, Spencer Waugh, Madeleine Grace Egan, Dylan Waugh MacKenzie, James Callan Egan (deceased), Garnet Waugh and James Waugh. Great grandmother to Zoe Bochna Waugh. Predeceased by her husband, Donald Alan Waugh, her parents Archibald and Margaret Craig, her brother, and sister-in-law Fred and Ann Craig and her grandson Cal Egan. We cannot imagine a better mother or grandmother a family could have. We are who we are because of her.

Mom was a lifelong giver and doer in every community in which she lived. For more than 30 years she was an active member of the Maycourt Club of Oakville. She went above and beyond her duties as a Maycourt-er and was one of the founding puppeteers of their program focusing on child safety in the community.

As expressions of sympathy, support for the Maycourt Club of Oakville or the Acclaim Health – Senior’s Day Program would be greatly appreciated.

Visitation will be held at the Ward Funeral Home, 109 Reynolds Street, Oakville, on Friday, November 20th from 2-4 and 7-9pm.
A Funeral Service will be held at St. Cuthbert’s Anglican Church, 1541 Oakhill Drive, Oakville on Sunday, November 22nd at 3pm followed by cremation.
