Dorothy Elizabeth McCORMICK

Passed peacefully, surrounded by family, at Ian Anderson House in Oakville on Sunday, May 10, 2015 at the age of 86. She will always be remembered as the beloved wife of the late William James McCormick, devoted mother of Lynn (Eugene), Lesley (John) and Peter (Carole), loving grandmother of Katie, Libby, Erin, Sara and Sam, caring sister of Bruce and the late William and a loyal friend to many. Dorothy attended Queen's University and graduated with the class of '51. She enjoyed many summers with her family on Mink Lake. Dorothy was a longtime member at the Mississaugua Golf and Country Club and committed volunteer at Ian Anderson House. Known as Dot by most, she will be remembered for her generous spirit, her great sense of humour and her sweet and gentle disposition. In lieu of flowers, donations to Ian Anderson House would be greatly appreciated by the family. Cremation has taken place. The family will receive friends at Ward Funeral Home, 109 Reynolds Street, Oakville, from 2-4 and 7-9 p.m. on Wednesday, May 13th. The Funeral Service to celebrate Dorothy's life will take place at St. Jude's Anglican Church, 160 William Street, Oakville, on Thursday, May 14th at 11 a.m. A reception will follow at the Oakville Club, 56 Water Street, Oakville.
