Mrs. Dorothy May Bridson (nee Fayle)
March 8, 1926 – November 30, 2023
Dorothy passed away peacefully on November 30, 2023 at the age of 97 surrounded by her loving family. She is predeceased by her husband of 54 years, Philip James Bridson, her parents James Robert Fayle and Ellen Abbott, her siblings (Florence, Peggy, Rita), and her son Michael. She is survived by her three children Philip (Josephine), Joan (Larry), and Edward (Laurel). She will be fondly missed by her grandchildren (James, Joseph, Robert, Ronnie, Michael, Karen, Danielle, Jonathan, Andrew), great-grandchildren (Ava, Rae), and many nieces, nephews, and extended family in the Isle of Man and England.
Dorothy’s journey brought her from Laxey, Isle of Man to Canada in 1958, arriving in the wilds of northern Ontario in the middle of February. She worked for 20 years as a ledger keeper, head teller and finally assistant accountant in the CIBC in Manitouwadge, Ontario where she raised her four children. A lover of cats, avid knitter, matchmaker, and dancer, she will be remembered for her colourful knitted sweaters, raisin scones, and feisty approach to life. In her later years, she enjoyed travelling the world by cruise. She was a warm and loving person, always ready to welcome people into her home and life.
