It is with great sadness that we share the passing of Dorothy Holt (Fox) in her 80th year on July 15th, 2022, at Brampton Civic hospital due to a brief illness. Beloved wife to Eric Holt for over 61 years. Daughter of deceased parents James and Freda Fox. Loving mother of Stephen Holt deceased (Yvette),David Holt (Sue), Peter Holt(Mary-deceased), and Joanne Larkin (Keith). Adoring Grandma to her nine grandchildren, Michael, Christopher, Sarah, Jacob (Megan), Eric (Montana), Trevor, Melissa, Maddison (Kristian) and Nathan. Dorothy and Eric made a life-changing decision to move their young family to Canada from Manchester, England, in 1974 to provide a life of many different opportunities for their children to experience. Dorothy had a love for working with young children; where she worked at the YMCA for over 20 years, where she made many wonderful friends. Dorothy’s caring nature lead her to volunteer for several years at St. Catherine’s hospital and the Hospice. Her caring and patient ways were well received by everyone she interacted with. For the past 15 months, Dorothy has lived at the Revera Retirement home. During her time at Revera, she became friends with many. She wanted new residents to feel welcomed and comfortable and took on the role of ambassador to support them in adapting to their new environment. Family and friends were a huge part of her life; she was a social butterfly, always waving and saying hi to everyone she met. You were now her friend after one or two interactions with her; even at the end of her life, she would wave to the nurses and doctors.

We want to thank the Brampton Civic Hospital doctors and nurses who provided excellent and loving care to our Mum. Dorothy will be greatly missed by all who know her. We will always love you, mum/grandma.
