Dorothy Salmon-Higgins

Dorothy Salmon-Higgins returned to her heavenly home on February 21^st, 2024 at the age of 87, peacefully, in the presence of loved ones. Born June 20^th, 1936 in Manchester, Jamaica; Dorothy was blessed with a large and loving family. She will be forever remembered by her beloved children Paulette, Anthony and Delroy; her precious grandchildren Shawn, Adrian, Georgina, Davin, Danika, Kiesha, Reuben, Aisha, Camilla, Chantille and Marquisse and her loving siblings Mavis, Yvonne, Winston, Keith and Everton who will all miss her deeply. She will also be missed by several great grandchildren, nieces, nephews, cousins and her church family. She is predeceased by her dear daughter Meggan; son George; grandson Kareem; siblings Veronica, Agatha, Errington and Dyra and her Parents Olga and Harris.   

Dorothy was a hardworking, faithful woman who was devoted to the Lord, her family, church and community. Although our sorrow over losing her is immeasurable, we have comfort in knowing she is now at peace and that her boundless light will live on in all those she has touched.

Visitations will be held at Ward Funeral Home Weston Chapel, 2035 Weston Rd on Friday March 8^th from 5- 8pm and on March 9^th, 2024 at Miracle Temple Ministries, 7 Sheffield Street, Toronto, ON at 10 am. The funeral service will be on March 9^th, 2024 at Miracle Temple Ministries at 11 am.  The interment will follow, at Beechwood Cemetery, 7241 Jane Street, Concord, ON.

The family wishes to send a special thank you to the many staff and caregivers who have supported Dorothy with such compassion in this last stretch of her journey.

If desired, memorial Donations may be made in Dorothy’s name to the Heart and Stroke Foundation and would be appreciated by the family.
