WALLS, Doris Harriett - Died on August 11, 2009 at the age of 89. Failing health kept her close to home in recent years but, not so long ago, many will remember seeing her walking the streets of Oakville with her daughter, Susan. And before that, Doris could be caught on Oakville courts, hitting tennis balls with husband and best friend, Charlie. A genuinely warm, loving woman, she will be missed by her bridge-playing, street-walking, tennis-loving and Unitarian friends, her neighbours and her family. A Port Dalhousie girl to the end and the last of the Johnstons of 96 Main, Doris is survived by her son, Jon, grandson, Patrick, and great- grandsons, Conal, Kieran and Lochlan. A reception in celebration of her life will be held at the Ward Funeral Home, 109 Reynolds Street, Oakville, (905-844-3221), on Saturday, August 22, 2009 between 2 and 4 p.m. Those who wish to make a donation can give to Oakville Trafalgar Memorial Hospital or to a charity of your choice.
