Doris Viola Tarras

Doris Viola McDooling was born in Weston on January 9, 1928 to Jim and Norah McDooling.  She was a big sister to Margaret, Lenard and Irene.  Doris met and married Jack Lithgow and they had four children, Lynne, Susan, Glenn and Jim.  She was thrilled to become a grandma to Stephen, Jeff, Heather, Brittany, Jennifer, Laura, Steven and Jack and then elated to have nine great-grandchildren, two great-great-grandchildren, and many nieces and nephews. 

 After being widowed twice, Doris carried on loving her family, including her Loblaws family of many years.  She exemplified daily a positive mindset and making the best of what she had and the situation in which she found herself.  Over the years, she enjoyed music, dancing, oil painting, and bowling. Doris made the best pastry, had the greenest of thumbs, and never missed watching "The Sound of Music" when it came on T.V.  

She is loved and missed. 

In lieu of flowers the family has requested a donation to Sick Kids Hospital in Mrs. Tarras' memory.
