Donald Coughlin
Peacefully passed away on October 5, 2023 at Soldier’s Memorial Hospital at the wonderful age of 90. Born in Ottawa in 1933, lived in various provinces while his father served in the Air Force. Pre deceased by father Fred H Coughlin, Mother Marion Grace Coughlin (nee Gates) Brother Terrance Coughlin, and Loving wife Helen Marjorie Coughlin (nee McAlary)
Don has a long list of achievements; formally employed by Canadian Timken ltd, was a life member of Canadian Institution of Mining as well as a Professional Engineer. He was a Mason, member of the Scottish Rites, Moore Consistory, and Rameses Temple. During his time with the Shriners, he was the president of the Mississauga Shrine Club, assisted in the formation of the Peel Shrine Club, was a founding member of Tecumseh Shrine Club, served as the Ambassador to the Peel Shrine Club, and founding Ambassador to Credit Valley Shrine Club.
Don’s biggest achievement and the one he was most proud of was being a father to Doug Coughlin (Marlene), Kathy Coughlin (Fred) and Grampie to Kelsey and Leah Coughlin, a step Grampie to Paige and Brook Arseneau, and a step Great Grampie to Emma Dyce.
Friends and Family will be received at the Ward Funeral Home “Brampton Chapel”, 52 Main Street South (Highway 10) Brampton on Thursday, October 26th, visitation from 11:00 – 12:00 Funeral and Masonic Service at 12:00 pm, with a Celebration of Life to follow at the Mary’s street legion.
In lieu of flowers, as an expression of sympathy donations can be made to the Shriners Hospital for Children.
