DiStasi, Dominic John
On January 22, 2022 Dominic John DiStasi, husband, father, grandfather (12), great grandfather (5), great-great grandfather (1) and friend, passed away at the age of 91 years.
Dominic will be lovingly remembered by his 6 children, his daughter Donna and children Taylor (Timmy), great granddaughter Amelia, son John (Teresa) children Julia and Nicholas, son Douglas (Leona) children Douglas, Christa (Darryl), Dustin (Cynthia), Matthew(Daniel) and great grandchildren Logan (Jessica), Olivia, Angel, and Rebecca and Amor and great-great granddaughter Scarlett, daughter Carole, children Danielle and Michelle, son Mark (Chris) children Ashley, Ryan and Noah and son Michael.
He was a Life member of the Loyal Order of Moose, Lodge No.392 and the Golden Horseshoe Moose Legion No. 132.
He had an entrepreneurial spirit having had multiple businesses starting as a young shoe shine boy, to bread delivery, a grocery store, a funeral business and a hand cleaner manufacturing business. Having the responsibility of feeding a family of 6 Dom opted to begin working at the Post Office as a Supervisor of the fleet department from which he retired after 20 years of service. In retirement Dom and Joan became snowbirds spending their winters in Florida.
Dom enjoyed his poker nights with the boys, social events at the Moose Lodge and travelling, as well as . Sunday night dinners with his family where there was always room for a drop in visitor or 2 and would often lead to an evening of singing around the dinner table (while indulging in his homemade wine). Dom had the ability to fit into any setting whether it was a group of his children’s friends or a formal social gathering. He had a jovial social grace that made people comfortable around him.
Dom will be missed by his family, friends and relatives and the singing and whistling will be carried on.
