Domenico Scarpolini
Passed away peacefully with his loving family by his side on October 18, 2022 at the age of 92. Devoted husband of Bruna of 66 loving years. Proud father of Lorena and Mario (Cinzia). Cherished Nonno of Eric and Amanda. He will be dearly missed by his nieces, nephews, sister-in-law and his friends.
Born in Talmassons, Udine, Italy to loving parents Silvio and Maria. Domenico grew up at a very difficult time of war and uncertainty.
As a young man Domenico loved to go dancing. It is thought that he met his bride to be at a dance. And of course, the rest is history.
Bruna and Domenico started their family together in Italy. And life was good, however, Domenico wanted more for his family. Alone, he made his way to Canada. It was in Sudbury that his life in Canada would begin. He worked hard to earn enough to bring his lovely wife and young daughter over. In July of 1959 they were reunited. Together they built a life together and were thrilled with the arrival of their son Mario.
Domenico enjoyed fishing, hunting and time in the garden tending to his vegetables. In the fall he would make his wine, sausages and cure his salami.
He was a simple man who enjoyed the simple things in life. Nothing would bring a smile to his face like the one that would appear when kids and grandchildren were around.
“Forever loved, always remembered.”
Family and friends will be received at the Ward Funeral Home 4671 Hwy 7, Woodbridge (just west of Pine Valley Dr.) on Friday October 21, 2022 from 9 till service time at 11 a.m. Interment to follow at Beechwood Cemetery.
