It is with deep sadness that we announce the sudden passing of our beloved Domenico Cosentino, on Thursday February 24, 2022, at the age of 92. Domenico leaves behind his beloved wife of 60 years Marianna and will be lovingly remembered by his children, Joe (Jennifer) Cosentino and Antonietta (Keith) Czechmeister; along with his four grandchildren Paul, Michelle, Christian and Eva. He leaves behind many relatives and friends.

Domenico Cosentino was born in St. Andrea, Ionio (Calabria, Italy) on November 30, 1929. In spring of 1961, he met the love of his life, Marianna Frustaci, who would soon become his wife and life long best friend.

It was a whirlwind romance and they were engaged March 3, 1961. Marianna returned home to Canada and throughout the year they were apart, Domenico would write beautiful letters to her, until he immigrated from Italy to Toronto, to begin their life together. Domenico and Marianna wed March 3, 1962 and were blessed with two adoring children, Giuseppe (Joe) and Antonietta.

Domenico had many passions, which included family, tinkering, making homemade meats and wine, and his prized vegetable garden. He was a hardworking, generous and selfless family man who built a beautiful life for his family and tried to squeeze time in for a bit of fun, whether playing soccer with his kids in the backyard, or taking them camping and fishing in the canoe. His love of family deepened when his grandchildren were born. His smile and guidance will be greatly missed.

Domenico has been reunited with his brothers and sister and friends who have passed.

In lieu of flowers, the family requests memorial donations to Alzheimer Society of Toronto or the Cancer Society.
