The family of Domenic Neri of Toronto is deeply saddened to announce his passing on Thursday, October 13, 2022, at the age of 66 years. The world has lost a good man and a kind father.
Domenic will be dearly missed by his children, Michael Neri and Jessica Bemister, as well as his daughter-in-law, Stacey Sleightholm, his son-in-law, Sean Bemister, and his two beloved grandchildren, Liam and Laya. He will also be lovingly remembered by many others in his life, including lifelong friends and multiple generations of the Neri family. He was called home to join his loving parents, the late Giuseppe and Anita Neri.
If you asked his family and friends to describe Domenic, many would call him a caring father and grandfather. Some would call him a car and sports lover. Others would call him an instigator, a goofball, and a grump. All would say they loved him.
Domenic loved nothing more than to eat a good Italian meal in the presence of his children and grandchildren, probably with a Leafs game on in the background. He didn’t like formality. He was a jeans-and-t-shirt kind of guy who spoke plainly and laughed easily. This is how he will be remembered by those who loved him best.
We, the family, will have an evening together soon when we gather around a table of pasta and arancini – beers in hand – and watch the Leafs lose for you, Dom. We love you always.
